EMPOWERMENT & WELLNESS | An update to our health and safety practices at Killer Queen
With a global pandemic happening around us, we're in a pretty surreal and weird time right now.
It's totally normal to be feeling a little uncertain and having a few WTF moments- the implications on our lives and business right now is pretty huge and uncertain. It's damn challenging living with shifting goal posts every day and putting plans on hold - ammiright?
While the full extent of COVID-19's global impact is yet unknown, we’re taking precautionary measures to protect ourselves and our customers.
At Killer Queen we LOVE and CARE for our valued clients so much- your health, safety and wellbeing is paramount
With that in mind, I wanted to update you on some of my policies and extra precautions I'll be taking to keep you safe at this time and give you peace of mind. Your health and wellbeing is of utmost priority to me and I wanted to let you know how I'm working to keep you SAFE and updated.
As a slightly type-A persona I never take chances with hygiene as a makeup artist, and I wanted to reassure you that I'll be taking extra measures to keep everyone safe at this time.⠀
I want everyone to feel comfortable and safe in my space! I GOT YOU.
For the time being, I am still taking appointments and bookings whilst taking all the precautions I can- until I hear otherwise from the government or the health authorities.⠀⠀⠀⠀
Here's some of the ways Killer Queen are managing things from our end in regards to hygiene:⠀⠀⠀⠀
I'm sending out clear & kind communication to all clients with upcoming bookings so that you feel safe and informed of what's going on. I believe in transparent and proactive communication so that you know what's going on.
I've set up extra hygiene stations in my studio and following protocol to keep everyone healthy. I'm making sure all my surfaces in my studio are cleaned down with disinfectant before and after EVERY client, washing my hands thoroughly before and after every client (usually to the tune of Spice Girls Wannabe or other such classic 90s hits)
I always use a new set of brushes on each and every person, and they always get thoroughly disinfected and deep cleaned after every use (always have, always will, even if it means more cleaning for me)
For all appointments in my studio I'll be asking that you come alone to your appointment pretty puhlease- the risks are lower one-on-one and increase as you add more people in the room.
As always I try to encourage customers to pay online using their phones and I generally opt for online invoicing to digitize the payment process as much as possible. I’m not taking cash payments as it’s unhygienic.
For any events/ appointments or weddings that need to be postponed or rescheduled:
In the event of a lockdown or self isolation, I'll be informing you asap and rescheduling any in-person appointments.
For all weddings and big events that have to be postponed/ rescheduled I will be honouring all fees and charges as they pertain to your original date. .
If you have an appointment coming up and feel unwell I ask that FOR THE LOVE OF PRINCE you stay away and get better. Please let me know asap and I will reschedule your time. There will be no fees or anything of the sort for you rescheduling - no way!
The precautionary measures I've outined here are to keep everyone safe and I'm aware that things can change quickly. I'm working to ensure that I stay on top of developments so I can keep you informed and will let you know ASAP if your sevrice or booking will be impacted.
Please keep yourself and your fams safe.
Do what you need to do to feel like you are protecting yourself, your loved ones and your customers, whether that's shutting down physical premises for a few weeks, taking meetings only online rather than in person or social distancing. I know it's difficult and will cause a bit of turmoil, but do what you need to do to feel safe. ⠀
Above all, remember to breathe. To stay strong and positive as much as possible. It's easy to get swept up in hysteria and panic, but I'm all about making you feel safe, informed and on top of this.
Keep creating. Keep loving. Keep being patient and wonderful and magical.
You are strong, wise, resilient and amazing, and you have been through tougher things before. Of that I am sure.
